The facility is certified as largely barrier-free, which makes it accessible for a wide range of guests.

The thermal bath area centers around a large 32°C indoor pool, an outdoor pool with a current channel at 33°C, and a warm pool with a whirlpool at 37°C. There is also a cold plunge at 20°C and a children’s pool. Water attractions include a waterfall called “Lobensteinquell,” bubble loungers, and neck showers. The sauna landscape is where things get more distinctive. You get two Finnish saunas (80-100°C), an outdoor Finnish sauna with a wood-burning fireplace reaching 110°C, a steam bath at 55°C, a biosauna at 60°C, and a Tepidarium at 40°C. The standout is the exclusive Moorsauna, which runs from 38°C up to 50°C, blending the local moor tradition with gentle heat. There is also a Dead Sea salt grotto, an infrared cabin, and a full wellness menu with massages, soft-pack treatments, and baths. The philosophy here is practical: the facility functions as a Kurmittelhaus, meaning it is a medical spa center first, with wellness layered on top.

This place works best for people who want a genuine Kur experience rather than a flashy water park. You will find a mix of older spa guests on prescription treatments, couples looking for quiet relaxation, and families using the thermal baths. Monday mornings feature free water gymnastics at 11:00 and 14:00, which is a nice bonus. Wednesday evenings offer a women-only sauna session from 17:00. The best times to visit are weekdays during the off-season, when the baths are quieter and you can actually use the Ruheraum and sauna garden without crowds. What makes ARDESIA-Therme special is its grounding in local geology. The slate, the moor, the thermal water from deep in the Schiefergebirge, it all connects to one place.
