Erlebnistherme Zillertal

Erlebnistherme Zillertal is located in Fügen, Austria, right in the heart of the Zillertal valley. The water here comes from a local source and fills the pools at a comfortable 32–34°C. The architecture is modern and open, with massive panoramic windows that give you a direct view of the surrounding Zillertal mountains from nearly every pool. The whole complex is designed around the idea of mixing action with relaxation, so you get wide-open water surfaces alongside a 14-meter slide tower that dominates the skyline.

The signature feature is the Black Hole double slide tower, which houses West Austria’s longest water slide at 133 meters and a separate inner-tube slide perfect for racing. Below that, the 1,000 m² adventure pool area includes a wave pool that kicks off every hour, a 600 m² indoor-outdoor experience pool with massage jets and a climbing net, and a dedicated new children’s zone with a 28 m² water playground. For quieter moments, the sauna world offers eight different cabins including a Zirben-Bio-Sauna (50–60°C, textile-friendly) inside the pool area and the new Gartensauna hitting 90°C. The outdoor brine pool with 2% salinity sits right next to the mountain view, and the new 500 m² relaxation area in wood gives you a proper place to recover.

This therme works best for families who want a full day out where kids get the slides and parents get the sauna circuit. Plan for at least four to five hours to cover the pools, hit the slides a few times, and rotate through the sauna world. What makes it different from other Austrian thermes is the deliberate split between high-energy water attractions and a genuinely well-designed wellness zone — the textile bio-sauna inside the pool hall lets parents supervise children while still getting a sweat session in, which is rare and practical.
